I believe that every student deserves equal access to opportunities and the support they need to succeed. My goal as a teacher is to ensure that all students — regardless of background, ability, or learning style — are given the tools and guidance to thrive academically and emotionally.
For students who struggle, I believe in providing personalized support. For example, I will meet with the student one-on-one during break or after school to walk through the lesson together and identify the exact part they're struggling with. After guiding the student step by step, I’ll follow up with a simpler question to see if the issue stems from a foundational concept. If so, I will reteach the basics in a clear and supportive way to build their confidence and understanding.
I will also ensure that no student’s grade suffers due to a disability. Every student should have the opportunity to demonstrate their learning in a way that works for them. Additionally, I believe that a safe, clean, and respectful classroom environment is essential for meaningful learning to take place.
In my future classroom, I plan to use strategies I’ve learned through observation — like using “table talk” discussions and motivational language. For instance, when introducing a behavior expectation or activity, I might say, 'This is how high school students handle this,' which can encourage students to rise to the challenge and feel respected as young adults.
I also plan to integrate technology into my teaching. If the school has an interactive whiteboard, I can design PowerPoint lessons with built-in games that let students come up and engage with the content physically. If Chromebooks are available, I can include digital questions where students move a character or symbol to the correct answer. These strategies make learning hands-on, fun, and effective."
